Meeting Minutes
Members Present: Bruce Lieske, Sue Beveridge, Wally White, Kim Coburn, Scott Harden, Tom Kravets.
Members Absent: Chris Waguespack, John Stoudt, Matt Gibbons.
The meeting was held at Sue’s house. Bruce called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Meeting Minutes: Bruce read the minutes of the June 8, 2010 meeting. There being no corrections or additions, a motion to accept the minutes was made by Tom and seconded by Wally. Motion carried.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Treasurer / Membership: Sue reported the checking account balance of $14,914.16 as of September 21, 2010. She also reported the paid membership was 183. Kim supplied the names of 4 potential new members. Dr Hankins, one of our ad supporters notified Sue that he would no longer support us with the ad. Sue informed the board of a number of foreclosures notices received from banks. These will be turned over to Matt Gibbons.
Deed Restrictions; Nothing new to report
Beautification/Maintenance: New flags were placed at both entrances. Landscaping was discussed and Wally informed us that the bench at the lake was damaged. This has been an ongoing problem with vandalism at the site. Wally will research various types of benches including the heavy cement type. John Holmes, the landscaper has recommended replacing the high intensity lights with others. He also suggested a relay be installed to shut off the lights when the sprinklers come on. We will check out the cost of these proposals. The south entrance area near the wall that was repaired is in need of landscaping.
Halloween Parade: Kim will investigate the cost of renting a popcorn machine instead of serving the children cookies. She will also contact the police department for Police escort for the marchers. The parade will be on Sunday October 31 and begin at 4:45 P.m.
Jetta Point Park: We need to keep our eyes open to see if the proposal might be raised in the future. The Atlantic Housing Partners project proposal for the area near the town center has raised objections from a broad sector of the community. We as a board should voice our opposition as well. To this end, a resolution by the board was declared. The Chelsea Woods Homeowner’s Association Board of Directors is opposed to the Atlantic Housing Partners Project because of the potential long term deleterious effect that it would have on our community. A motion to accept the resolution was made by Sue and seconded by Scott. Motion carried.
Bruce mentioned that we should be searching for potential board members for the next year.
Several names were discussed and contacts will be made with them.
NEW BUSINESS:
At the Vistawilla intersection, Scott mentioned a “speed bump” apparently cause by a tree root.
The demise of Dr Decantis’s mailbox at the hands of a 19 year old driver.
An ongoing problem of dog owners not cleaning up after their dogs was noted.
The next meeting of the CWHOA BOD will be on October 19, 2010 at 7:00 pm at Sue’s house.
A motion to adjourn was made by Tom and seconded by Wally and the meeting closed at 8:30 pm.
