Meeting Minutes
Members Present: Kurt Miericke, Greg Smith, Sue Beveridge, Luis Rios, Lisa Finnegan, Bruce Lieske, and Pat Stanforth.
The meeting was held at Sue Beveridge’s house. It was called to order at 7:30 PM by Kurt.
The meeting minutes from the previous meeting, March 14th, were approved.
Treasurer’s Report. Sue gave the treasurer’s report. About 200 members have paid out of approximately 300. As of August 31st, we had $9,243.59 in the bank and we are on budget. The last newsletter contained 2 pages of ads which paid for all of its costs – mailing and printing. The budget report was accepted.
Beautification. Ron chairs this committee. As he could not attend the meeting, Kurt read his report. The only outstanding issue is that some of the lights at the entranceways are not working. Ron is teaching his son how to fix these and his son will look after them.
SR 417. Greg stated that a study will start around Jan. 2006 which will determine how to widen 417 to 8 lanes from Aloma to Rinehart Road. The Express Authority will more than likely widen Aloma to the Lake Jessup Bridge first. A public hearing will be scheduled. A noise study will be performed.
Education. Kurt and Lisa sent a letter to the city of Oviedo stating that the HOA was concerned about the safety of Oviedo High students walking from the Publix area to the front of the school as there is not a sidewalk. The city responded that it would add a sidewalk, however, it will take some time due to a planned widening of Broadway and permit requirements from the FL DOT, county, et al. The request letter and the response will be posted on our website.
Phase 2 of Tuscawilla Beautification. Kurt stated that the Tuscawilla HOA will soon be sending out a ballot for phase 2. During this phase, Seneca Blvd. along with other through streets such as Northern Way will get improved lighting and signs. The annual assessment from the city will be increased.
Fall Fest. The Fall Fest will be held at Trotwood Park on Oct. 22nd from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Lisa will rent a bouncy castle. She will also put up signs as a reminder. We will have the same menu. Kurt will look into pricing/ordering the pork. It would be great if Morgan could update the website and have something on the homepage announcing the fall fest.
Halloween Parade. This event will be held Monday, Oct. 31st. It will start at 4:45. Pat will contact Carrie and see if we can have it end at her house again. The starting point will be the corner of Seneca and Saranac.
Newsletter. An article should be included concerning Gary and Jan Bennet’s walk to raise money for stroke awareness.
Deed Restrictions. Luis stated he received several requests and granted approvals for fences in the neighborhood. He would like the newsletter to include an article listing the restrictions on parking boats and RV’s. One home has added on a screened room that faces the street without applying for a CW permit.
Bruce Lieske has agreed to replace John Gallagher on the CW Board. All board members present approved.
The next Board of Directors meeting will be held on Oct. 10th at 7:30 PM at Lisa’s house – 701 Conesus Lane.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 PM.
Respectfully submitted by Pat Stanforth, secretary.
