Meeting Minutes
Members Present: Kurt Miericke, Sue Beveridge, Jim Mathews, Bruce Lieske, Lisa Finnegan, and Pat Stanforth.
Members Absent: Ron Schroeder, Luis Rios, and Greg Smith.
The meeting was held at Sue’s house, 1834 Seneca Blvd. It was called to order at 7:30 PM by Kurt.
The meeting minutes from the previous meeting, October 10th, were approved.
Treasurer’s Report. We have a current balance of $7,009.57. Sue estimated that the normal operating costs for this year were about $9,000.00. Incoming from dues is about $12,000. This allowed for the upgrade to the Winter Springs entrance and unexpected lighting repair for both entrances. Plus, we saved a little for next year and/or emergencies.
Pat needs to call Carrie for the Halloween parade receipts.
Beautification. No news to report.
Fall Fest. There was a poor turnout this year. We believe it was due in part to Winter Springs Homecoming that night and the fact that a hurricane was due to hit south Florida. The weather conditions here were iffy. We will continue to have this event for now. If there is a poor turnout next year, the board will have to consider canceling the event. However, we believe having the Fall Fest on its original date, the last weekend in October would be the best option. The first weekend in November is our second choice. We will attempt to plan around homecoming for both Oviedo High and Winter Springs High next year.
SR 417 Widening. No new information to report.
Cell Tower. The Tuscawilla Country Club is considering placing a cell tower on its property. We have received a letter from the Arrow Head subdivision asking us to help them stop the cell tower from being installed at the golf course. The board decided not to take any action on this matter at this time.
Newsletter. The next newsletter will state that there will 3 new openings on the board for the next fiscal year. The annual meeting date will be included in the newsletter if possible.
The newsletter will contain a story about two families who are raising money in CW for 2 different charities. The board will run these and similar stories for now. We reserve the right to discontinue this practice if it gets out of hand.
Annual Dues. Kurt presented the letter sent with the annual dues bill last year. Sue, Lisa, and Kurt made updates to the letter for this year. The Tuscawilla Today magazine carried a wonderful 1 page article on CW this month. The article will be copied and sent with the bills on a separate page as long as it photocopies clearly as the original is in color. The mailing will also contain a return envelope. It is our goal to mail these by the 15th of December.
New Board Members. Several current board members are going to speak to their neighbors about running for CW HOA board seats in Feb. Candidates will be interviewed by some of the current board members.
By Laws and Deed Restrictions. Pat will make 50 copies of each of these to be passed out to new homeowners and for use at the annual meeting.
The next Board of Directors meeting will be held on Jan. 23rd at 7:30 pm.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 PM.
Respectfully submitted by Pat Stanforth, secretary.
