Meeting Minutes


Board Members Present: Chris Waguespack, Susan Beveridge, Tom Kravets, Matt Gibbons, Wally White, Luis Rios, and Scott Harden.

The meeting was held at Sue Beveridge’s house. Chris W. called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m. Quorum confirmed.

Previous BOD Meeting Minutes from January 18, 2011: Motion to Approve the BOD Meeting Minutes as corrected by Wally W., Seconded by Sue B, passed without objection.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Treasurer/ Membership: Sue B.: Current balance is $21,005.18, current membership is 175. Insurance is renewed with no change. Receipt of one Certificate of Title (sold to Wells Fargo Bank) in Foreclosure action on 1784 Otisco Way, dated March 21, 2011. Regarding Newsletter, need to confirm all advertisers before finalization. A Screen should have been included and the Biechele’s Keller Williams advertisement was included but not ordered.

President: Chris W.:
  • Garage Sale: Saturday, occurred April 4/30. Thanks to Jennifer H. and John S. for coordinating. Goodwill pickup was appreciated as well. Board will coordinate for next year, including Goodwill pickup and placement of yard sale signs and coordination with police re: sign code-enforcement issues.
  • Chris W. has adjusted the pump at the pond to run approx 9 hours daily in order to reduce muckiness and moderate mosquitoes.
  • Advertising signs within the neighborhood- Wally to call the authorities and review the applicable rules regarding vendors’ signs.


Welcoming Committee: Kim C. not in attendance, but Chris W. confirms one new closing on Canadice Ct.

Deed Restrictions/ Architecture Review: Luis: No new requests / reports. Luis has been walking the neighborhood and seeing work going on, but no violations noted.

Maintenance/ Beautification: Wally W.:
  • Bench has arrived at the vendor, to be picked up approximately Friday 5/7 and installed by Tom, Wally, Luis, any other available members.
  • Irrigation: John Holmes wants to hold off irrigation, lights, mulch until after electrical repairs completed.
  • Scott Harden has two estimates for the electrical repairs at north entrance - $400 and $550- to replace breaker box and supporting equipment. Scott moves to approve accepting the lower bid for electrical work at intersection of Vistawilla and Seneca. Motion seconded by Matt G. and passes without objection.


Newsletter/E-mails: Scott H.: Thanks to Beulah Ali-Carr for fine work on the newsletter. Goal to publish next newsletter approximately September.

Motion by Wally W. for approval of up to $150 to purchase a copy of Adobe pdf Creator software or functional equivalent, for use by HOA for creation of newsletter and other publications. Motion is seconded by Tom K, and passes without objection.

Winter Springs Citizens Advisory Committee: Tom K.: Advisory regarding locking cars and garage doors, as break-ins of both continue to be a problem. Concentrating on the summer months including bicycle patrols for increased activity with school out. E-Mails: Scott H.intends to send out community e-mail reminder to pay dues if not already current.

NEW BUSINESS

Scott H.: Proposed Photovoltaic Manufacturing Consortium technology business N of 424 W of 417- this location is no longer in consideration. They will develop in another state.

Scott H.: Missing newspapers continue to be an individual problem. Scott has advised the homeowner to check first with the Sentinel re: delivery. No further board action at this time.

Tom K.: Concern regarding the need to replace bike lane striping. Scott H has spoken with the city and brought it to their attention- it is on the city’s plan for the next two years.

Next Meeting: Tuesday August 2nd. Location tbd.
