Meeting Minutes


Board Members Present: Chris Waguespack, Susan Beveridge, Tom Kravets, Matt Gibbons, Wally White, Kim Coburn, and Scott Harden, Jennifer Hoffman, Luis Rios. Also attending: Bruce Lieske, John Stoudt, and Beulah Ali-Carr.

The meeting was held at Sue Beveridge’s house. Chris W. called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Quorum confirmed.

Previous BOD Meeting Minutes from January 18, 2011: Corrected as to several name spellings and an address. Motion to Approve the BOD Meeting Minutes as corrected by Sue B, Second by Kim C, passed without objection.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

President: Chris W: Has person with interest in doing the newsletter

Welcoming Committee: Kim C.: No new families yet, but several expected soon.

Deed Restrictions/ Architecture Review: No Report

Maintenance/ Beautification: Wally W.:
  • Has ordered a cement bench $223.65 for the pond area, anticipate delivery in 1.5 weeks;
  • Irrigation: John Holmes will help lead a work group to do install at North end.
  • John H also will help replace / install additional lighting at that same entrance to reduce electrical useage
  • Mulch. $30 per yard, 7 yards needed. John available to lead work group to install at south entrance immediately, suggests the other entrance after the work on North Entrance.
  • John H. indicates North End electric box is rusted and needs replacing. Wally and Scott will contact one or more electricians to price out.
Newsletter/E-mails: Scott H.: See President’s report and introduction of Beulah Ali-Carr, in New Business below, regarding the newsletter.

Treasurer/ Membership: Sue B.: Current balance is $21,004.12, current membership is 167. Scott will send out a new reminder by e-mail.

Winter Springs Citizens Advisory Committee: Tom K.: Advisory regarding an unpermitted vendor soliciting painting of house numbers.

NEW BUSINESS

Board of Directors Officers: Luis R. to serve as Vice President and covering deed restrictions. Motion by Tom K. to approve, Second by Wally, motion passes without opposition.

Chris W. read aloud letter by concerned homeowners regarding poor conditions of several yards throughout neighborhood.

Chris W. introduced Beulah Ali-Carr, who is interested in supporting the newsletters. Aiming to have newsletter out by April 15, with content from the members by April 4.

Garage Sale: Saturday, April 4/30. Jennifer H. to coordinate with John Stoudt re: permitting, advertisement, etc.

Missing newspapers: several homeowners have been missing newspapers.

Tom K., neighbors with construction business operating in the home. Concerned about the lacquer. Code enforcement initially ok’d because of occupational license. Tom K followed up, and other neighbor contacted city commissioner. Operation now seems to have shut down or moved along.

Atlantic Housing Project: developers have filed suit to allow them to go forward. Proposed Photovoltaic Manufacturing Consortium technology business N of 424 W of 417- this location is still under consideration.

Next Meeting: Tuesday May 3rd 7:00 pm. Location tbd.
