Presentation by Police Chief Kerr: The chief described the various divisions in the force and their duties.

He established the Citizen Advisory Committee which is pro-active group of community members which aim to keep crime rates down. The first year it was established, crime went down 25%. He recommends that all residents keep their garage doors closed when they are not in the garage. He also asked that neighbors help keep a watch on their neighbor’s homes for strange activities. Any suspicious activities should be reported to the police by calling 911 or the non-emergency number 407.327.1000.

In Seminole County, Winter Springs has the largest land area of any city and the 3rd largest population about 34,000.

Outgoing Board Members: The outgoing board member Kurt Miericke was presented a plaque and thanked for his service by Mr. Rios.

Questions: Dr. Miericke held a discussion with the members about their concerns. Items mentioned included the Fall Fest; whether reclaimed water will ever be available all the way down Seneca; a possible park at SR 434 and SR 417; cars parked on Seneca; and the poor state of a few lawns.
